Recognitions:

Once a banker, always a banker: Aric Graham was recognized $50 for taking a new position with a new bank. Aric has worked at US Bank for 10 years. The new bank's name is Umqua Bank. He said it was a hard decision but wanted a new challenge and there hadn't been a new bank in Las Vegas in a long time.

Cabo in his dreams . . . Donnie Garritano was recognized $75 for his fun-filled vacation with 9 other couples in Cabo San Lucas. He said there was too much eating a beach . . . he continued that business has picked up and things are looking good.

Paul Harris Fellows:

Club Member Karl Maisner

Elizabeth Ann Holtz on behalf of Club Member Adrienne Cox

"The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

It was established in 1957 to show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to Ambassadorial Scholarships.

Early Paul Harris Fellows received a certificate of recognition. In 1969, the Foundation unveiled the first Paul Harris Fellow medallion at the RI Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Japanese metal artist Fiju Tsuda created the piece under the direction of then-past Foundation Trustee Kyozo Yuasa. Today, Paul Harris Fellows receive a certificate and pin. They are also eligible to purchase a Paul Harris Fellow medallion."

Speaker:

Randy Pote

District Governor 2015-16, District 5300

The new 5300 District Governor, Randy Pote, spoke to the Club about his vision for coming year. He said his motto is to "leave Rotary better than we found it." He explained his project is to provide Clubs and Rotarians the tools in which to make our community better and stronger. He continued that he wanted to help evolve Rotary in the eyes of the community and address our public image in the process.  This year's International Rotary slogan is "Be a Gift to the World."
