Dylan Shiver
Nevada Mining Association

Dylan Shaver has been the Nevada Mining Association’s lead lobbyist for four years.  Prior to joining NVMA, Dylan was a Director at the Perkins Company where he represented diverse clients, ranging from gaming interests like Wynn Resorts, to Organized Labor, and even a few mining companies.  In total, Dylan has worked in Nevada Politics for fifteen years and will provide the Club an update on the status of Nevada’s fifth-largest industry.

Boy's Nite Out: Aric Graham announced that LVSW Rotary will be sponsoring 5 spots for Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada's "Boys Nite Out" which will be October 15. Please see/call Aric for more details. A sign-up can be found in the book.

One Drop Walk: Mitchell Horst announced that One Drop's Walk for Water will be October 17. A sign-up can be found in the book.

Football Squares: Eric Colvin announced Mike Rogers and Ken Cox were the $150 awardees for the week.

Tailgate: Eric Colvin announced the tailgate will be November 7 as UNLV hosts Hawai'i. We will be sharing the space with the Las Vegas West Rotary Club. Sign-up can be found in the book.

Credit Card Processing: Mitchell Horst announced that anyone with an overdue or due bill can pay at the meeting through a new credit card processing system. See Mitchell after the meeting to pay.

Text-a-thon: Everyone texted Tom Martin who was recovering after surgery. Also had everyone text Joanne birthday wishes.

Recognitions:

Fashionista extraordinaire . . . Ed Guthrie was recognized $100 for his posing with models at an Opportunity Village fashion show.

Hawai'i dreams . . . Troy Lochhead was recognized $162 for her recent trip to "The Islands" where she enjoyed 9 rounds of golf and was threatened by three hurricanes.

Yellowstone is gonna blow! Hank Falstad spoke about his trip to Yellowstone and then asked to identify a Rotarian: Fav book - Hope Floats, Gone with the Wind; From Marysville; loves the ocean and wants to have better social skills and the ability to speak publicly. Hank guessed but was helped by Eric Colvin, Eric was assessed $20.
