At the Meeting

Announcements:

Greenspokes: Josh Satterlee announced that last week's Greenspokes was a big success. Thank you for all who came.

Gold Raffle: Mitchell Horst also reminded the Club that this year's Gold Raffle will be Thursday, March 19 and will be a cocktail party at Southern Highlands Country Club. Members will be encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to attend hosted by the Club. More details will follow in the weeks to come.

Happy Feet: Shawn Callahan reminded the ClubHappy Feet will be on January 29th at Lake Elementary (2904 Meteoro St, Las Vegas, NV 89169). We will begin at 9 am and should be finished by 10:30/11 am. A sign-up can be found in the book.

Birthday! Karen Strawn announced that Bruce Pope's 70th birthday was this week (January 28). Bruce reminded the Club that he and Karen share a birthday.

Dan Stover Music Competition

Each Year, District 5300 conducts a music competition among high school students throughout the district. Last Year, Las Vegas Southwest Rotary's representative student was the district-wide winner.

This year the Club had five participants:

The competition was judged by Hal Weller, founding music director and conductor laureate of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Linda Rodgers, CEO of King Joe Educational Enterprises and Barbara Riske, award-winning and professional pianist.

Connor O'Tool won the competition and will represent Las Vegas Southwest Rotary at District Conference this Spring.
