Meeting Happenings

Conducting:  Rebecca Collett; Invocation: Ron Reynolds; Photos: Ted Henderson; Mr. Mic: Mark Rowley; Greeter: Adrienne Cox; Newsletter: Clinton Pope; Raffle: Arash Ghafoori

PHOTOS FROM THE MEETING

Visiting Rotarians: Cliff Silverstein from Hawaii; Michelle Santos from Chicago.

Visitors: Jim Andres, guest of the Club; John Miller and Dave Doto, guests of Pepe Charles; Joe Cusack, guest of Aric Graham

Announcements:

Debunking: Aric Graham thanked everyone who came out to celebrate Mitchell Horst's last hurrah at his debunking and told those who were not in attendance to find someone who had video of the event as they would not want to miss the outfits he wore that night.

Youth Leadership Exchange: Adrienne Cox announced to the Club that the District is looking for host families for a Korean student coming to our area this fall. Typically host families share the student with other families and commit to hosting for 3/4 weeks at most during a stay. If you are interested, contact Adrienne.

Board Retreat: The board retreat is Friday, July 14 and Saturday July 15 at Hilton Lake Las Vegas. More info will be coming from Rebecca via email.

Commission Check . . . to LV Southwest Rotary! Pepe Charles explained that during the Satterlee administration he referred some business to Dave Doto. Much to his surprise, Dave told him he had a commission/finders fee check for $750. Pepe said instead of giving to him, they should give it to Rotary. Two years later they presented the check to the Club.

Surveys! Rebecca Collett reminded Club members to turn in their surveys as the board uses them to determine the annual budget. If you have not sent in your survey, please do so to Rebecca.

PAY YOUR BILL! It's really easy!  Reminder: It is your duty to keep up to date on invoices and up-to-date bills will be sent to all members. The Club recently instituted on-site credit card payment so any member can pay their bill at any meeting. If you don’t know how much you owe, just ask Elaine (she’s keeping a list and checking it twice).

Recognitions:

New Home Happiness! Bruce Pope was recognized $100 for the purchase of his new home in Nevada Trails. Being the gracious person he is, he said the real winner was Jack Woodcock whom helped secure the new home. Jack indicated that Bruce was a great client as he helped him purchase the house he was leaving 30 years ago. He also mentioned that he represented the that house now and it was sold on its first showing. Jack was also recognized $100.

Brexit Boy! Keith Thomas was recognized for his trip around the UK where he visited Ireland, Whales, England and Scotland.

Gifts for the President

Keith Thomas came back from the Old Country with gifts for both the current and immediate past president of the Club. He gave Mitchell Horst a St. Andrews golf ball, golf tees and golf marker and gave Rebecca a poker chip golf marker and catalogue from one of the area courses.
