August 8 Program

Jeff Leibow, Development Director/Board Member, NF Hope, NEUROFIBROMATOSIS NETWORK

Actor, Singer, Songwriter and Philanthropist, Jeff Leibow has performed to more than 3.5 million people (and counting) in his career.  He’s received rave reviews not only for his portrayal of “Nick Massi” in the Tony Award-Winning musical, Jersey Boys (a role he held for more than 7 years and 2,700 performances), but also countless other theatrical and philanthropic ventures.

Jeff, however, is not your typical Broadway actor, unless having a degree in Zoology, experience as a technical marketing manager for a super computing company, founding a national philanthropic event and working as a NASA contractor is the status quo in New York these days.

In 2007, he earned the role of his career in the hit musical, Jersey Boys.  But it wasn’t until a couple of years later that he landed the role of a lifetime, "Dad" to his beautiful baby girl.

Unfortunately, soon after his daughter was born, she was diagnosed with the untreatable and incurable neurological disorder, Neurofibromatosis (NF).  Struck by the fact that this relatively common disorder (which affects 1 in every 2,500 births) was unknown to so many, Jeff immediately looked for a way to raise awareness for NF.  In 2011, he founded the NF Hope Concert, an event that married the two things he loved most, music and his family.  Since it’s inception, the concert has grown by leaps and bounds.

Jeff has now redirected his creative passion to helping the NF community in every way possible.

Today, Jeff lives in the Las Vegas area with his daughter and his wife of more than ten years, who every day, remind him what is truly important: get involved and make a difference in the lives of everyone you can.  His lesson, which he instills in his daughter (and everyone who will listen) is simple…when you give to those in need, the reward is greater than any applause you could ever receive…even 3.5 million of them.
