Bryan Dziedziak, CPA
Affordable Care Act: Repeal, Replace or Improve?

LVSW Rotary Club member Bryan Dziedzaik is a practicing CPA who provides business consulting, tax, accounting and financial consulting services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and trusts. Clients served include Southwest Gas Corporation, Sahara Hotel and Casino and related entities, McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, Hilburn and Lein, CPAs, and numerous other small businesses, individuals, estates and trusts. He also serves as vice president - tax and finance for The Ribeiro Companies.  Bryan's career spans more than 35 years and came to Silver State in 1991 to head and manage Deloitte & Touche's Las Vegas tax practice.

Visitors and Visiting Rotarians: Donna Martin was the guest of Tom Martin. Isabel Guss was a guest as were a person by the name of Gary. We had a visiting Rotarian by the name of Mohamed from Kosovo.

FEED THE HOMELESS: Feed the Homeless will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 at Christ Episcopal Church located at 2000 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89104. If you can provide clothing or supplies, please bring them with you to the church. Set up and cooking begins at 5:00 p.m..

Magical Forrest: Jordana Lane announced that we will be working with Opportunity Village and their Magical Forrest this year on December 9. Please stay tuned for further details.

Holiday Party: Eric Colvin announced that the Holiday Party will be at his house on December 1st. More information to come in the form of an Evite.

Gold Raffle: Gold Raffle is coming up quickly and raffle tickets are available.  See Ron (he is getting a real jump on it and is assigning tickets as we meet.)


Jordana Lane: Jordana was recognized for her RAGNAR race in southern California where she also camped from Thursday through Sunday. That recognition was cancelled out by Jordana's work in helping to organize our Club shopping event which happened in early November.

Adrienne Cox: Adrienne recounted her first time witnessing how bow hunters use blinds and tree stands to hunt deer. She was appreciative of the fresh venison she received from such hunting in Virginia near Roanoke. She was recognized $50. She also forgot that she took her badge home.

Tom Martin: Tom was asked how much should Adrienne be recognized for taking her badge home and he said she shouldn't have to pay anything . . . by the way, he had taken his home as well.

Marcia Rands: Marcia had a birthday and because she's a youthful member she was only recognized $5.

Doug Malan: Doug was recognized for his recent trip to visit his son Danny in Florida where he spent a week in Ft. Lauderdale, the everglades and the keys.

Mark Rowley: Mark was recognized for bringing his daughter to our shopping event as well as her support during Feed the Homeless.

Hank Falstad: Hank indicated that he was in Florida where he was kicked off a college campus. No followup questions were asked.

October 31 Program

John L. Smith, author and columnist

John L. Smith gave his general thought about the election and its impact throughout Nevada. He gave an overview of how the related initiatives (all of which passed) will affect the state and spoke in particular to the passasge of recreational marijuana. He also spoke to how the state will operate politically after Senator Harry Reid leaves office. Follow John on Twitter at @jlnevadasmith.
