Terry Wright

Terry Wright is the owner and Chairman of the Board of Nevada Title Company. He is also the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Nevada Title’s subsidiary, Nevada Construction Services. Mr. Wright, along with the Management Team of Nevada Title Company, formed Westcor Land Title Insurance Company as the first domestic title insurance company in Nevada.

Mr. Wright is a member of the State Bar of California and Illinois. He is past chairman for the Nevada Development Authority, the Nevada Land Title Association, and the Young Presidents Organization. Mr. Wright is a member of the University of Nevada Las Vegas Foundation Board Executive Committee, and most recently became a board member for Southwest Gas Corporation and the Las Vegas Monorail Company. He is past board member for Pioneer Citizens Bank, First Interstate Bank, and the Boy Scouts of America Executive Committee.

Randy Black Sr.

A long-time area developer and business man, Randy Black Sr. came to Las Vegas in 1970. Since then, he has worked as a real estate developer on many projects across the Las Vegas Valley. He built the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite in 1990 and purchased the Oasis, now closed, in 1997. He also owned Casablanca.

In 2013, Black stepped down as chief operating officer of Mesquite Gaming, the parent company of his gaming holdings, to move on to new ventures in the medical marijuana industry. Black’s Clear River Wellness LLC, which does business as Nevada Medical Marijuana, has holdings in Henderson and Laughlin.

President Rebecca’s mom and dad, Sam and Cheva Rizo, were in attendance along with Lorri Kilby, Rebecca’s friend since elementary school (reportedly a one-room schoolhouse in Bakersfield, so you know how long ago that was!!)

Jordan Lane's guest was Joe Wittenwiler – a fellow runner and local loan officer who will be inducted into the club next month.

Valentine's Dinner: Tom Martin announced the Club will be having a Valentines Day dinner on Valentines Day (Feb. 14) at Pasta Mia West. The cost will be $50 (tip/tax included) minus drinks. If you plan to attend, please sign up in the book or contact Tom.

Gold Raffle: Ron Reynolds announced he attended the PETS meeting last week (photo on Facebook) reminded the Club that the Gold Raffle is coming up in April and asked the Club to start focusing on selling Gold Raffle tickets (see Ron for extras) he said that a one-pager about the event and where its proceeds will be made available. It will be located at the Opportunity Village Engelstad campus. Please start inviting guests as well.

Satellite Club: Karl Maisner announced that the new Las Vegas Southwest Rotary Satellite Club kick-off at Rounders in Anthem February 8th garnered 2 new Club applicants.

Super Bowl Squares: Eric Colvin announced numerous Club members won money due to the numerous score changes through out the game. The big winner was Troy Lochhead.

Summerlin Rotary 20th Anniversary and Fundraiser: The Summerlin Club will be holding it annual fundraiser recognizing its 20th year in existence on February 28, 6:00p to 8:30p at TPC Summerlin, 1700 Village Center Cir, 89134. Tickets are $25 (To purchase, contact your favorite Summerlin Rotarian or go to This year's theme is Mardi Gras.

Past Presidents: Eric Colvin announced that the next meeting with be Past-Presidents day and our speakers will be Terry Wright (NV Title founder) and Randy Black (long-time LV developer and COO of Mesquite Gaming).  Invitations have been mailed to all past presidents.


Brian Dziedziak, Karen Strawn, Jim Andres, Bruce Pope, Tom Martin and Rick Colvin were asked to stand while the club serenaded them with a cacophonous caterwauling that sounded sort of like the tune to Happy Birthday.

Richard Bowler, Ed Guthrie and Scott Baranoff were asked to stand to show the entire club that they had forgotten to wear their Rotary pin.

Keith Thomas was fined $100 for his extraordinary charitable efforts on behalf of everyone in the world and for spending every waking hour in the service of his fellow human beings.  (Ok, actually he was fined for embarrassing.

PAY YOUR BILL! It's really easy!  Reminder: It is your duty to keep up to date on invoices and up-to-date bills will be sent to all members. The Club recently instituted on-site credit card payment so any member can pay their bill at any meeting. If you don’t know how much you owe, just ask Elaine (she’s keeping a list and checking it twice).
