Randall P. Gabe

Vice President, Gas Resources

Southwest Gas

Randy Gabe is Vice President/Gas Resources of Southwest Gas Corporation. He is responsible for overseeing Key Account Management, Gas Purchases and Transportation, and Systems Planning functions.

In his position, Randy is focused on providing adequate gas supply to ensure reliable service to each Southwest customer. In addition, he is responsible for developing policies and managing relationships with large commercial and industrial customers in each of the operating jurisdictions.

Randy joined Southwest in 1993 as an Accountant. In 1998, he was promoted to Senior Accountant in the Corporate Planning department. He left the Company in 1999 to become the Director of Finance, and later Vice President of Finance, for a technology company based in Las Vegas. He returned to Southwest in 2003 as the Manager of Gas Resources Planning. Randy has worked at Southwest for over 20 years. During his tenure, he has held positions of increased responsibility in the areas of Accounting, Resource Planning, Gas Supply and Key Account Management. He was promoted to his current position as Vice President/Gas Resources in 2012.

A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Randy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, as well as a Master of Business Administration. Outside of Southwest, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation and volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America.

Debunking: Eric Colvin announced Rebecca's debunking will be held Friday, June 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Horse arena of Karen Goff's Home with a "Western" theme. NO HEELS (unless they are on cowboy boots!) RSVP by June 19. Anyone with good stories, please contact Eric ASAP. Valet parking available.

Tom Martin: Tom was recognized for his grandson's (Jon Gray) for his recent relocation back to Las Vegas and recent promotion to general manager of the Palms Casino and Hotel.

Jack Woodcock: Jack was recognized for his recent Distinguished Service award by the National Realtor Association, the highest recognition offered by the organization. He will be traveling to Chicago to accept his award.

Pepe Charles: Pepe was recognized $100 for gloating about his recent travels to exotic places like Long Beach and his daughters one year left until she has attained her masters.

Sean Tanko: Sean was without and then with pin so no recognition.

Pins/Logos: For the first time in Rebecca's year, every member was adorned with either pin or Rotary logo.


PAY YOUR BILL! It's really easy!  Reminder: It is your duty to keep up to date on invoices and up-to-date bills will be sent to all members. The Club recently instituted on-site credit card payment so any member can pay their bill at any meeting. If you don’t know how much you owe, just ask Elaine (she’s keeping a list and checking it twice).



Eric Colvin gifted a wine glass from his recent adventure to Ely Rotary's annual golf outing.



Norm Clarke, Celebrity Columnist and Journalist

Norm spoke about his experience as a long-time journalist throughout the western United States while with the Associated Press, Rocky Mountain Times and Las Vegas Review-Journal. He spoke about his run-ins with sport and entertainment personalities as well as some the the big stories he had the opportunity to report over the years.
