Medical Mission

A group of physicians based in California, LIGA (known as the “flying doctors”) staff Red Cross clinics in El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Mexico. Rotarians from our Club have been assisting LIGA with these monthly medical missions since 1998 by either serving as triage nurses, pharmacy help, and translators and/or helping wherever necessary. On a typical Saturday, over 400 patients will be treated and given medication, free of charge by these volunteers. Most recently, thru a partnership with Club members companies, other Las Vegas Valley Rotary Clubs and part of our International Service budget, we funded the building of 3 additional operating rooms at the San Blas Red Cross clinic.
