"My father was a Rotarian for over 60 years. As children, most all of the adults my sister and I were around socially were Rotarians. I remember the men and women as honorable, good hearted adults who were patient and kind teachers of all those mysterious life things, and strong competitors on the golf course. Rotarians were people I wanted to emulate as an adult, and I am very pleased to be a member of our Las Vegas Southwest Rotary Club."

The Gold Raffle - This is our biggest fundraising event every year. The Las Vegas Southwest Rotary hosts a semi-formal dinner and raffle for real gold coin. Raffle tickets are sold to members, other Rotarians and friends of members. The biggest winner takes home thousands in gold. We also have an auction, our own Vern Ratzlaff as auctioneer, with amazing items available such as trips, jewels and one of a kind art pieces. There is a silent auction too. It is a magical night, and we raise money to fund our many service projects throughout the year.

Holiday Partys - We love to get together! We have a Christmas/Holiday Party for adults and another for families every year. The adult party is a dinner social and the family party is held at a recreational venue where Santa always finds us. We celebrate Valentines together too.

President De-Bunking - Annually we celebrate the year of the out-going President. Held at the beautiful home of Jack Woodcock we roast the out-going president and provide gifts fitting each individually. It is a crazy, fun time that we all enjoy.

Greenspokes - In the Rotary tradition, the Las Vegas Southwest Rotary hosts quarterly Greenspokes. These are social events, usually held at a member's house, where we choose an avenue of service to review for new members. New Rotary members are required to attend four Greenspokes but all members can and do participate.

Other Social Events - Throughout the year we have golf trips, ski trips, shows, plays and dinners that we plan together. Rotary has provided us with lifelong friends and we like to spend time together.
