VOCATIONAL SERVICE

“Discovering vocation does not mean scrambling toward some prize just beyond my reach but accepting the treasure of true self I already possess.” ― Thomas Merton

At the LVSWR, we believe we have a dual responsibility of representing our vocation within the club and exemplifying the ideals of Rotary within the workplace. Here are some of our vocational activities:

  • Dan Stover Music Competition – A contest for high school musicians to compete for a $5,000 first place scholarship.
  • Teen Leadership Camp (TLC) – The Club sponsors elementary school students to attend a leadership training program.
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) – The Club sponsors high school junior students to attend a leadership training program.
  • 4 Way Speech Contest – High school students are encouraged to participate in Rotary’s annual 4-Way Speech contest to compete for a $5,000 first place scholarship.
  • Las Vegas Southwest Rotary Scholarship -The Club offers a 4 year renewable scholarship of $9,600 to a graduating senior who attends a Nevada college or university.
  • Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship – The Club encourages college juniors and/or seniors to apply for Rotary International’s Ambassadorial $25,000 Scholarship.
